Catonsville Arts & Crafts Festival, September 2019

Starting in 2019 the Catonsville Arts & Crafts Festival will have a new home at the college which has an ideal parking lot for festival vendors, providing protection for their booths and easily accessible parking for patrons. The large volume of traffic, along with Mass Transit has caused the State Highway Administration to request no longer to be held on state thoroughfares. We see the move as positive and hope it will become one of Catonsville’s premier events for interested vendors, which can contact the Chamber office at festival@catonsville.org. In 1962 it was held in Catonsville and it ran along the sidewalk of Route 144, but after several starts and stops, the event grew to be large, encompassing 256 vendor spaces and extending to 1000 block. Now Maryland has begun seeing extreme rainfall set up by a consistent jet stream pattern, so we can no longer expect the Sunday after Labor Day to be safe from a major rainfall.
